Analysis of War of the World

H.G. Wells has written many wonderful novels throughout his career and many of which have become some of the most renowned and popular features in literary history. In my opinion, his most impressive science fiction novels was War of the Worlds.
War of the Worlds was written in 1898 during the peak of Wells literary career. The novel is about a man who must venture through a London and world wide invasion of martians, and the struggles he faces. One of the major themes of the novel is the over whelming resilience of man through difficult situations. Throughout the story, the narrator stays Strong through all of the hardships that he faces and in the end is victorious. Another underling theme in the novel is that of the horrors of war and that of the strong will survive is present throughout the story.
War of the Worlds ha been the inspiration for many different interpretations and other literary works. War of the Worlds was created into a movie in 1953 and then again in 2005. The most famous of these different interpretations was that of Orson Wells radio broadcast in 1938 the caused a nation wide panic as a result of the realistic features and mood of the broadcast.
War of the Worlds was of of Wells greatest literary creations and will be a predominant fixtures in the science fiction genre for years to come.

Major Works
Throughout Wells career, he has written over 50 novels and short stories ranging from many different genres and styles, and today I will summarize three of his greatest works.
The War of The Worlds is about an unnamed narrator who travels through London while the earth is being invaded by martians in tripod looking machines. After the first attack, the narrator takes his wife to stay with family where it is safer. After many attacks, the two become separated and the narrator joins together with another survivor. When the martians eventually leave earth, the two men travel back to London in hopes of rebuilding their society. In the end the narrator and his wife are reunited and face a difficult life ahead of them. In later years a radio adaptation read by Orson Welles griped the nation and cased mass panic.
The Invisible Man is about a scientist named Griffin who has the theory that a persons reflective index can be changed to that of air so that persons body dose not reflect and light. When he does the experiment on himself, he is successful but can not reverse the effects. As a result he become mentally unstable.
The Time Machine Chronicles the events of a group of scientist who invent a machine that can travel into the future. When they travel to the year 802,701 AD, they find a world of humanoids and morlacks. The morlocks hide the time machine, so the travelers must fight the morlocks to go back in time. After a great battle the travelers find the time machine and travel back to their original home. This novel was the inspiration for many movies, comics, and television shows.
